about
"Arachné" is a song from Igniael's 2012 goth pop album "Arachnida". Originally in French, this song tells the legend of Arachne, the woman who became the first spider. Igniael recorded an English version of it for the single "Arachné".
lyrics
Arachne, come and weave your webs on me, on me
(You know my body is yours!)
You cheat! Under the full Moon,
The gods take pity on you.
If you must, carve your way on my back
And leave your trace on my neck
You come back to me only to bid me farewell
(And leave your sorrows with me!)
Arachne! (That boiling venom of yours!)
Arachne! (The curse that dwells on your blood!)
Arachne! (The spider, symbol of love!)
Arachne! (Black widow, romance is lost!)
Arachne, Arachne, and from the first to the last
(And then, my body is yours!)
Your nails turn a bleeding red
All out of rage and despair
Hearts glowing dark from the angst
Spirits forsaken by faith
With your poisoned bite, change this into paradise
(Weave your illusions on me!)
Arachne! (That boiling venom of yours!)
Arachne! (The curse that dwells on your blood!)
Arachne! (The spider, symbol of love!)
Arachne! (Black widow, romance is lost!)
